		HOT SHOTS WORLD SHOWCASE Vines to Cellar...Dimensional exterior sign This was an exterior sign project for a specialty wine store. Being located about half a block off of the main tourist Avenue, the design intent was to have immediate recognition of the products being sold at a glance from a distance. The design included the use of two actual wine casks (which were supplied by the client) mounted in such a fashion that they would simulate wine barrels being hoisted down to a cellar for storage. We used rough cedar planks to fabricate the "pallet", and painted lettering on the plate and the ends of the wine casks to further simulate the realistic effect. We also utilized Gemini water jet cut acrylic letters for the main copy. To finish the look, we covered the horizontal steel mounting arm with rough cedar planks to simulate a wooden beam, and wrapped the vertical steel support poles with hemp rope for realistic effect.
